The Caddy model has been discontinued. The following model is the replacement which offers better features for travel use. The price includes everything necessary to start up and they are shipped together. You can also get extra batteries with item number MKB12V12M. The price for each one is shown on the website.

The scooter was estimated to be available in Oct. But according to the manufacturer this may not happen since they are considering to discontinue this item and replace completely with another model that offers better foldability and lighter weight. The old model caddy is discontinued and new model will be available in Oct. Currently we carry another model of travel scooter with lighter weight and easier to fold feature. The scooter itself is not approved but the batteries used are approved to use on air plane. In fact, most of customers purchased either the Caddy or Elite to travel by air. There is never a problem.

The shipping weight of the caddy is 115 pounds and the size of the box is 38x28x17. The battery charger has the ability to charge on 110 and 220, customer must purchase a power converter to make it work, yet, the charger has the ability to switch from 110 to 220.
The converter can be purchase at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. The cost is around $5 to $7. The reason you need the converter is to ensure the wattage is correct when coming into the charger. The charger has the ability to accept both wattages automatically: 110 and 220 but the converter is needed.

There is no tax for you. You can take it on most of commercial airline. But it is too big to put on the upper bin. You can give it to a flight attendant who will put it in a storage bin. It does not come with a traveling bag. You will need to follow the manual to do maintenance yourself. It can go through certain type grass depending on the condition but it is not recommended for optimal performance of the scooter. There is no video for it. The use of the scooter is very simple. You can learn from the manual easily. None of another customers have any problem using it.

No, the seat does not swivel due to technical reasons. It can fold down.

The battery can last for 9-12 mile drive. Some customers purchased 2 extra batteries, charger and battery charging adaptor so that they can keep the back up batteries charged while using the other set in turn. While we do not know your medical condition, this foldable travel scooter is very easy to handle. We have not heard from any customers of similar age and weight about any problems of operation.

The Caddy is like any power wheelchair and scooter out in the market. You can not get electrical connections wet, due to the fact that the rain may short out the electronics. Therefore, you need to pay special attention in this regards.

The batteries can perform appropriately 1 - 2 years in general if used appropriately. They comply with FAA requirements and many customers use the scooter during Air travel. The tiller can fold but not adjust.

This foldable scooter is the most popular for travel. Many customers used it for travel in Europe. It has also been sold to European customers. The scooter runs for 9-12 miles if the batteries are fully charged. Whether or not it runs for a day depends on the distance of sightseeing. So it may be necessary to have extra pair of batteries (2 x ASCA025) as back up.
The batteries that come with the scooter are charged on-board. Some customers who purchased extra set of batteries also bought the battery charging adaptor (ASCA048) and the off-board charger (ST00236). So they can charge the batteries on the scooter and the extra batteries on the off-board charger at the same time. This doubles the travel capacity while saving the charging time.
