The weight capacity is 450 lbs as shown on the website. We only sell brand new hospital beds not rent. It usually takes 2 to 5 business days depending on your location. We have several warehouses in the country. The bed will be shipped from one of the closest ones to you.

The weight capacity on this product is 450 lbs. What is the weight capacity for the patient alone? Most beds we have looked at on the internet show 450 lb capacity but limits the patient weight to 350 lbs.
Yes, the maximum patient weight is also 350 lbs for this model of hospital bed. If you need higher capacity, you can consider a bariatric model.
No, all of the homecare style hospital beds are 80" long. If you need 75" long bed, you can consider the long term care hospital beds.

The semi-electric model comes with a remote control that can adjust the bed head and foot section electrically. The bed height is adjustable manually using the crank but not by the remote control. It usually takes 2-5 business days to deliver depending on your location. The mattress is a standard innerspring mattress commonly used for hospital bed. The mattress cover is not plastic nor cloth. It is a material that is flame retardant, antibacterial, waterproof, and washable. The spleeping surface of the bed is 80" long. If this is not enough, you can order the extension kit (609-0084-000) that can extend the bed to 84" long. Weight capacity for this bed is 450 lbs. as you can see from the website. This is the highest capacity for a standard model ever on the market. For higher weight capacity, you will need to have a bariatric model. A bed with 600 lbs weight capacity is definitely a bariatric model. The following one can be considered due to the lowest height and price.
The difference between semi and fully electric beds is that the former adjusts bed height manually with crank and later adjusts bed height electrically by hand control. Weight capacity is never a differentiator.
Do you have to have a special mattress for this bed frame? Can I use a single mattress I already have?
This kind of mattress needs to work with a mattress that is specifically used with hospital bed. While we do not know what kind of mattress you currently have, regular home style mattress can not be used with hospital. Since the bed head and foot sections can be raised up and down, the reqular mattress will be damaged this way. So it is recommended to select one of the packages on the website for the best performance and maximum level of saving, since you will have to pay a lot more if you buy mattress and bed separately.

Inside delivery is to deliver the bed inside the house into the room of your choice. This requires extra labor coming together. Otherwise, the bed will be delivered to curbside. The inside delivery does not include assembling the bed. The delivery staff will not do installation. You will need to set it up following the instruction which is easy just like buying furniture from IKEA.

I am considering a hospiatal bed for my husband. I am not sure if I want to purchace one or have Midicare rent one from a local medical supply. I am interested in the manual/elec. model and am wondering if the 7" foam mattress is sufficient for comfort.
The 7" mattress is standard hospital bed mattress for home care and nursing care in facility. It is sufficient for comfort in most cases. If the patient is bed ridden, bedsore will be a concern in the near future. You may consider an alternating pressure mattress for pressure relief to prevent bed sore.
Whether to purchase or to rent depends on the length of time you need the bed practically. If this is for short term (like less than 6 months), rental may save you some money since you will pay a portion of rental fee. Otherwise, purchase will be better choice in the long run since for fixed cost you own the bed forever vs paying times more for rental but still may or may not own a bed. With the amount paid, you may be able to own several beds and mattresses. So you need to make decision based on your situation.

Can i use my regular twin size innerspring mattress on the whisperlite II semi electric hospital bed?
Usually a regular home style mattress can not be used with a hospital bed since raising the bed head / foot sections will bend and damage the mattress. We are not sure if your innerspring mattress is flexible enough to be used this way. If it is not a hospital or home health care grade, it is possible that you can not use it with the hospital bed.

Semi-electric? Does that mean you have to hand crank it up for them to be able to raise their head?
Semi-electric means that the whole level of bed is raised by the crank and the head / foot sections can be adjusted with the hand controller by pushing the buttons. The latter needs electricity.

If you have a valid address inside the US, we can ship there at no shipping charge. However, you need to find out a way to take it to your location in Europe. For such a heavy item, the shipping charge may be close to or even higher than the cost of the product. So it may not be worthy.
