Does Medicare pay for this with a Dr.'s Rx?
Medicare will not cover any one of these products. All customers paid by themselves. Doctor's Rx is not needed.
The floor inside of our tub is quite a bit higher than the bathroom floor. Would this tub mount transfer bench solve this problem?
The height difference between the inside of the tub and bathroom floor is not a problem since the legs are adjustable with 0.5" increment. In fact, the inside of tub is always higher than outside. The key is to make sure the measurements of your tub meet the requirements that are shown on the website.
Hi..wanted to know if the handles on the side of the chair are removable. Thank you
No, the handle is not removeable. It is welded with the frame.
How does patient get on bench (quadrapalegic) and how does he get into tub?
The basic steps are like these:

1) you can turn the seat to face out, the patient need to transfer from wheelchair to the bench either with the help by a caregiver or by himself (herself) just like transfer between chair to bed.

2) fasten himself (herself) with the seat belt which is important for safety.

3) turn the seat 90 degrees and then slide to transfer the patient into the tub. Or slide to transfer into the tub and then turn the seat 90 degrees. Either ways should be OK depending on the situation and space available.
I presume this does not screw into or damage the tub in any way. No holes or anything. I will be using this in my mother's apartment.
The sliding transfer bench is clamped onto the tub edge by tightening the screw. But the screw is not turned into or damage the tub. It does not drill holes to the tub edge.
How does a shower curtain work with the swivel seats? Do you have to lift them over the bracket?
You can manage the curtain that is soft enough to get around the two metal rails. You do not have to lift them over the bracket. The curtain will stay inside the tub edge.
doz it fit all tube and lock on tube side so it dusenot come off the tube win you git on it from a wheelchair can u send me more info on it 84 sparta ave apmt 108 sparta nj 07871 tu randy campbell
It is not for all types of tubs. The requirements include
1) Edge Width: 4" - 6"
2) Inside Width (at Bottom): 22" (min)
3) Edge Height (inside): 14" - 18"
If your tub does not meet the requirements please do not select this tub mount model. In this case, standard 4 leg models may be more appropriate.
I'm looking into buy, Tub Mount Sliding Transfer Bench with Padded Swivel Seat. My question is, do you have it with the opening for easy personal hygiene? or another model that is padded and open with the clamps. My bathroom is very small and my aides have difficulties with my legs. Thanks, Madeline
For tub mount style, there are only two models on the market - molded and padded. None of them has opening. If you need opening, please consider a regular 4- leg model with cut-out such as: http://ucanhealth.com/goto.php?page=detail.php&graph1=31564 (padded but not swivel)
http://ucanhealth.com/goto.php?page=detail.php&graph1=31613 (molded, swivel)
When I'm helping my Dad shower, it is sometimes hard to find enough room between his back and the back of the chair to wash his back. If this is the case with this shower bench, can I leave the back off of the bench? -or is the back a permanent attachment to the bench?
The back can be removed easily by snap-off.
I am a little confused on where i need to measure for the tub mount chair. is it the height from the outside floor or from inside the tub? And exactly how is the tub width measured? from the outside edge? or from inside the tub?
The measurement should be done inside of the the tub for the tub height and width at the bottom.
How hard is it to clamp and un-clamp? one of us will use it daily and the other will need to move it back out of the way to shower daily.
To clamp and un-clamp is done by screw and un-screw. For safety purpose, it is Not recommended to install or uninstall so frequently. It can be dangrous if it is not clampped tightly enough. For your purpose, we would recommend a regular model with 4 legs that provides higher flexibility.
At what point does it swivel? does it need to be all the way at the edge of the transfer side of the tub or can it swivel when it is in the center of tub or even at the other (wall) edge?
The seat can swivel 360 degrees and lock every 90 degrees. It can swivel at any position of sliding, either ends or centerof the tub. The swivel is controlled by the lever under the seat.
Is there a "minimum" tub height from the floor? My mother's tub is approximately 13 inches from the floor to the top of the tub side.
Yes, the tub mount models require tub edge height between 14" and 18" to match with the leg height range. So these models do not fit your mom's tub. You may want to consider the 4 leg models.
I am interested in the tub mount sliding transfer bench w/padded swivel seat #31761. It is for my mother, and her tub possibly measures 25" from the outside to the inside where the legs would be. Is it going to fit?
This model requires the inside width to be at least 22" at the bottom. Therefore, the bench may not fit your mom's tub. You may consider the four leg model that offers higher flexibility.

Is this available with a commode cut out seat, padded?
The model 31761 is the only tub mount sliding transfer bench with padded swivel seat on the market. There is no such a model of tub mount chair with cut-out + sliding + swivel seat yet.
The bathtub is only 12 inches deep. Is that deep enough for this bench?
Your tub edge is too low. This tub mount model requires clearance under the frame 14" - 18" for the bench to work appropriately. We would recommend the following model for your tub:

http://ucanhealth.com/goto.php?page=detail.php&graph1=31611
PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT, "REQUIRED CLEARANCE" MEANS?
The required clearance means the range of tub edge heights required in order to mount the tub by the clamp.
Can it be assembled to face the opposite drection than shown in photo?
Yes, it can be set up to face either way since the seat can turn 360 degrees.
