Regarding your model 37762 long model and model 37772 short model. What is the difference between the long model and the short model? Please explain. Thank you.
Please refer to the table under specifications with detailed comparison between the two models. They offer similar features and functions except for the dimensions. Please measure your tub carefully based on the tub requirements under the specifications.
I am looking for a transfer bench, preferably swivel but not necessary to fit a clawfoot tub. Is there a clamp that would fit the side of my clawfoot tub available, or another chair with enough heigth to fit? Thank you.
It is recommended that you consider the model 37662. The tub mount model may not work safely for your tub. Please measure your tub height from inside. If it is higher than 18", you need leg extensions to raise the bench up. The item 37651 is leg extension that adds 4" to the height.
There is a handle, a separate purchase #31780, is that attachable to one side of the chair??? then you would have the other handle on the shower wall side (built in) correct??
Yes, the optional handle for the molded seat is to attach to the side of the seat. There is a handle on the frame place on the side close to the wall. It comes with the product. If you need to two handles one on each side, you need to get an extra handle to install on the side of the seat.
Can this chair be purchasered with medicare or medicaide billing for my mother?
None of the sliding transfer benches are covered by medicare / medicaid / insurance. You will need to pay by yourself as all other customers. We accept all major credit cards, check and money order.
can you tell me the height of this seat from the ground?
The height of the bench from the floor depends on the height of the tub edge. It is required that the tub edge should be between 14" and 18" to be able to use the bench as shown on the website.
I have a question about item 31780 the handle for the molded seat for the tubmount sliding transfer bench with molded swivel seat (item 37762). would you happen to have a picture of the handle and how it attaches to the seat?
thanks, Katye Burns
Sorry, we do not have such a picture. It looks very like the handle on the frame. It comes as a kit for you to screw the handle onto one side of the seat.
Hi,
Why have you modified the clamp from the original two clamp system?
Thanks,
Jo
The modification is to ensure safety and add simplicity.
Hi
I am interested in your "Tub Mount Sliding Transfer Bench with Molded Swivel Seat". Are there any stores in the Connecticut are that cary this product.

We are sorry that this item is not available in your local area. It will be shipped to you free of shipping charge.
The other transfer bench shown, #37762 w/ modified clamp, what does modified clamp mean? How is this different from the other clamp. Are both clamps included?
You can compare the clamps on the two pictures shown on the website. The top one shows old clamp and the bottom shows modified one. The old model has discontinued and replaced with the modified one at the bottom. The modified clamps deliver better safety.
can I get this tub mounted transfer bench with cut out seat?
Such a tub mount model is not available with cut-out seat. It is not yet available on the market. You can choose either the molded model 37762 or padded model 37761.
Looking at the photo of the 37762 w/ modified clamp...
It looks as though the modified clamp allows more sliding room. Is this correct?
Where would the clamp be purchased?
Thank you,
cb
Yes, you are right. The new modified clamp provides better safety and sliding fuction. It is only available with the bench and not sold separetely. The old model has been discontinued.
what is the "handle for molded seat"? Do I have to order the metal handle separately? My father's tub is 23" across the top, with a 4"wide tub edge. Will this product fit? Lastly, does any product slide all the way to the OUTSIDE edge of the tub?
The handle for the molded seat is an extra handle available as a kit and can be installed on the side of the seat. It is for some elderly / disabled patients to gain balance. However, it is not recommded to be used to support the body weight or as a push bar to transfer the patient. Yes, the handle is sold separately.
As far as the tub inside width, you need to measure the width at the bottom of the tub that should be at least 17.5" for the bench to fit in. The 4" wide tub edge is great for the clamp to get fixed on.
With the tub mount model, the seat will slide to right on top of the tub edge - a little bit protruding to outside. If you need a model that can completely go outside, you should consider a standard 4 leg model with 2 legs inside and 2 legs outside the tub.
(1) What is the maximum width of the bracket on item 37762 where it locks onto the side of the tub? We have a tub which has a tile covering where the brackets would rest. (2) What is the maximum length of the legs which set in the tub. Our tub is deeper than normal. Thanks.
The maximum width of the bracket (22 1/2" long) is 5 1/2" this is the thickness of the tub edge. The tub edge height should be 14" - 18". If it is too deep, you need to get a set of extension legs.
What is the difference between the regular clamp and the modified clamp?
You can see the difference by comparing the pictures above and below. The old one have two separate narrow clamps while the modified one has two merged into one to become wider. It is safer and easier to handle this way.
How long is the bath seat? My tub is 22" inside to inside.
It requires that the tub inside width at the bottom should be at least 22". Since yours is just 17.5" inside to inside at the bottom and 23.5" on top, yours may just fit but please measure carefully and make sure that the measurement is made at the bottom of tub.
I need to know how this fastens to the bathtub and if it will mar it,does it clamp on or does it bolt on? Also how does the seat raise, since it says height:from 16.25" to 21". ??
The frame clamp on the tub edge by screwing the knob. The seat height is adjustable between 16.25" to 21" to accommodate the height of the tub edge. It does not raise once it is adjusted to fit the edge height. It required that the edge height is within the range of 14" - 18", otherwise the bench would not fit since it can not be leveled. Please also make sure that the tube edge width is within 4" - 6" (5" is the best) and the tub inside width at the bottom is bigger than 22". Otherwise, the bench won't fit.
I need 1 that faces the other direction. The saftey handle needs to be on the opposite side than what is shown in the photo.
The seat can swivel 360 degree locked at every 90 degrees. Therefore the seat or handle can be on either sides.
Which side is the "entry" side? and which side is attached to wall? What side does a person get into the seat first?
The seat can slide and swivel 360 degree locked at every 90 degrees. Since the seat can swivel, either side can be entry side and the other side is attached to the wall. You can get into the seat first from either side you want - it is flexible.
We have a walk in tub. Clamp will fit over edge but bottom of tub between 2 built in moldings is only 17". There is 26" from outside of tub to bottom on other side where the legs could sit. Is this tub big enough for this chair? Narrow tub because of the built in moldings where a bench should have been build originally
This tub mount bench will Not fit your tub since your tub is too narrow. The bench requires at least 22" bottom width inside the tub. You may want to consider a four leg model.
Can this transfer chair be used with a clawfoot bathtub? Rolled edge of tube is 3 1/2 in. but tub wall is narrower below the rolled edge.
If not, do you have another transfer bench that can be used with a clawfoot bathtub - need 23 inch clearance from floor. Thanks!
The model 31762 can NOT be used for clawfoot bathtub. You may consider one of the regular 4 leg models.
Such a 4 leg model needs clearance underneath 18". If your tub is taller, you need to have a leg extension to raise the height.
But the addition of leg extension may reduce the weight capacity for about 50 lbs. So if you weigh above 300 or 350 lbs, this is not an option for you.
Does the chair extend out of the tub?
The seat only slides to the end of the frame at the inner side of the tub edge. It does not extend out of the tub. If this is important to you, you may consider athe 4 leg model that is more flexible with the position of the bench and the chair.
Is this available with a commode cut out seat?
The model 31762 is the only tub mount sliding transfer bench with molded swivel seat on the market. There is no such a model of tub mount chair with cut-out + sliding + swivel seat yet.
Does this chair seat face to the left?
Can I reverse it?
I need a chair that faces to the left.
Your picture shows a chair that faces right.
Reversible?
Does it swivel?
Yes, it swivels 360 degrees and locks each 90 degrees. Therefore it can face either directions.
