I presently have a medidyne bed with a mattress very similar to the one mentioned above. I spend 22 to 23 hours in bed with 8 spinal masses, brain tumor, etc. Do you work with Medicare and Medicaid as the secondary insurance. Another company tried to tell me I had to "down grade" to a regular mattress. I have had too many bed sores, etc. My physician has given a blanket order to give me what I want. I also found from Medicare that you can't go backwards but get the newest bed similar to what you already have. If you do take my insurance, please, please call me today. I have multiple surgeries starting on the 12th and there are a very large number of people working to get what I need. Thank you in advance
We are sorry that Medicare will not cover purchase of these mattresses. All customers paid by themselves. Physician's prescription does help in this case.
Does the manufacturer permit the use of this wothout rails. We had an invacare low air loss and a participant strangeled on the 1/2 rail despite a gap filler. We have No Ariseer beds which rest on the floor, so if they rolled out, the injury risk woul be minimal. Invare would not approve their low air loass without rails. Does this company?
For this mattress model, you do not have to use bed rails if you do not want to. The mattress will work well without the rails if you think it is safe for the patient without the rails. The defined perimeter is designed for the function of protection.
My father is on one of these beds at home. We can't keep sheets on it, though, because it's so deep, and because the cover is so slippery. It's difficult to turn him in bed because of this (the sheets just pull off), and we can't keep a draw sheet in place. Are there any specialty sheets or mattress covers made for these?
