I have ms and confined to wheelchair. my weak ms side of my body really hurts to lay on at night would this mattress help. could you recommend a mattres that would help this and prevent bedsores. yhank-you cap
Usually, patient with MS and confined to wheelchair or bed tends to develope pressure sores due to a number of reasons. The weak MS side of the body may hurt because the pressure applied to the spot can not be relieved for a long period of time.
This product P4000 is an excellent mattress that provides Rotational, LAL, and Alternating Pressure Therapies. It is extremely therapeutic (prevention and healing pressure ulcers of all stages) and maximizes patient comfort with automatic body position change, as the top grade product on the market.
My husband weighs 200 pounds and is on an INVACARE low air loss mattress, and he is extremely uncomfortable since he keeps "bottoming" into an s shape against the rails on his left side. When he is straightened he bottoms within a few minutes, he can't help it although all of the controls are correct for his size and weight. Would the O2Zoned lateral rotation mattress keep him
centered on the bed and comfortable?
We have not had any customers encountering such problems with our mattresses. But as we heard from other vendors, for some patients, the "bottoming" thing may happen with certain alternating pressure / low air loss mattress.
For the lateral rotation mattress, theoretically this will be less likely to happen due to the lateral rotation movement and the soft sides that are always inflated during the lateral rotation. Also the raised cells protect the body at multiple positions such as hip, shoulders and head during the rotation. This will also keeps the body centered all the time.
But the question is whether or not the patient's medical condition allows or requires him to use a lateral rotation mattress.
what are the specifications of the pump for this mattress. Is it a compressor or air flow pump.
