Thank you for your interest in this All in 1 Shower / Commode Wheelchair. The arm rests are not removable. The arm rests are padded. To transfer patient, it is usually from the front side with the foot rest flipped up to get out of the way. The foot rest can be flipped up or removed but can not be adjusted in height. Best of all this chair can be detached easily and folded to save space and it can be used in multiple ways - shower, standalone or bedside commode and over toilet commode.
