QUESTION: My 86 yr old father has alzheimer disease & is in an assisted living facility. He has extreme pain in his back from arthritis and old fractures. I know the pressure pads are to prevent bed sores but would they help someone with extreme back pain. His spine has a big hump about halfway down his back and this is where the pain comes from.
Thank you so much.
Susan
ANSWER: If the pain is caused by pressure on the body, the pressure pad will help reduce it and a pressure mattress will help relieve the pressure at a higher degree. But if the pain comes from inside factors you will need specific therapy. One thing for sure is that pressure will increase the level of pain anyway.
