ANSWER: The size of the mattress is 80" long and fits well on the 80" sleep surface of the bed. The foam mattress provides fair air flow for patient to reduce pressure and the risk of getting bedsore to a certain degree. But as all other foam mattresses on the market, it will not prevent nor heal bedsores from happening. Therefore, if the patient is at high risk of getting bedsore or has already had bedsore, such a foam mattress would not help so much. You will need an alternating pressure / low air loss mattress that provides much better air flow. If the bedsore is at later stage, you will need to consider an air mattress that covers wider stages of bedsores.
