QUESTION: I currently have a Sentry 1000, the doctor feels that this is not sufficient for my wifes problems, she recently had skin flaps done and may need a new mattress. Is the Sentry 1000 a stage IV mattress and should I change.... ANSWER: The Sentry 1000 is a low level product targeting only early stages of bedsore up to II. It is usually used for prevention and can not heal stages more than II. It is apparently not able to handle stage IV. This model has been discontinued several years ago. So your doctor is right that you may need to consider this stage IV 3000 model with higher healing power for the most advanced stages. This therapeutic pressure relief mattress system takes advantage of the latest in surface, pneumatics and microprocessor controls to offer the optimal wound healing therapy for each patient's needs. Comes with the patented low air loss function.
-
The SenTech Stage IV 3000 System offers 3
individual pressure zones for maximum patient comfort and therapy: the
head, trunk and foot sections can each be individually customized.
-
Provides alternating pressure relief and
low air loss.
-
The sensor technology sense changes in the
patient's position and automatically adjust the airflow to compensate
for these changes.
-
Built-in memory stores all customized
settings and resumes the programmed information even after a power
loss - air retained.
-
The controller continuously monitors and
displays the air pressures delivered to each zone - a feature unique
to this therapeutic mattress system.
-
Air pressure automatically set for each
zone based on patient's weight and height entered. Settings can be
easily modified for a specific patient's needs.
-
The patented low air loss
provides a light and diffused air flow directly to the
patient's skin through thousands of microscopic holes in the top
coverlet.
-
Different control modes:
- Fowler Boost Mode: automatically
adjusts the appropriate pressure while patients are in the Fowler
position.
- Max Inflate Mode: allows for a firm
surface during nursing protocols.
- Deflate Mode.
