QUESTION: My mother can no longer stand or walk, but can bear weight on legs for a minute while "holding on", but will not even be able to bear weight much longer. Her legs are rigid. Will this lift enable us to lift her from bed and into scooter or from scooter to toilet? Is there any lift that a patient can operate on their own without assistance? |
ANSWER: Yes, you can do all these for the patient using this lifter. But it has to be operated by a caregiver. There is no such a product on the market for patient to operate without assistance to the best of our knowledge. Even for safety reasons, this is not feasible either. Lifting process requires not only pushing a button but putting the patient on and off the sling too. Most of the patients who need lifters can not do these by themselves. Without a caregiver beside, this can be very dangerous. | |
