QUESTION: is this a lift chair with a controller that the patient can elevate?
ANSWER: This is a recliner that can recline back but not lift up. There is no such a lift recliner chair with alternating pressure relief system. You may consider bedside air chair that can turn most regular chair to an alternating pressure relief system. But the seat has to be hard surface for the air cushion to work appropriately.

To use the 550 Mattress on an existing clinical recliner, it is important to make sure that the seat width of the recliner is 22" to 23" for the best fit. Appropriate straping is needed to fit on the recliner.
