All
of our commode chairs (commode seats) and toilet raise frames are built of rust-proof materials and
some of them are featured by worldwide patented
"Snap-on" design, which means that they are easy to install and uninstall
- a feature saving space and making travel easy. This feature is reflected
either in the names of the products or in the feature details. To select an
appropriate commode chair / commode seat, you need to think of the following features:
Weight Capacity: Most standard commode chairs / commode seats have a weight capacity of 250 pounds.
Heavy
duty (sometimes referred to as bariatric or obese) commode chair / commode
seat models offer higher weight capacity of 450 lbs. with larger seat than standard models.
Padded or Molded: All of the commode chair / commode seat models come
with arms for patient to push up. Some of the commode seat models (34043,
34024,
38051)
are padded with soft arms and seats, while the others (34118,
63551,
34027,
38003,
38103)
are molded for easy cleaning and trying.
Wheels and Brakes: Some commode chair models have wheels and brakes so
that they can be wheeled around like regular wheelchairs or companion chairs (38051,
38003,
38103).
Some (38103)
even offer large rear wheels (similar to wheelchair wheels) so you can propel yourself.
Foldability: Some commode chair models can be folded to save bathroom
space (34027,
34024).
Multiple Functions: Some commode chair models are multifunctional wheeled
chairs with shower and commode (38003,
38103,
38051).
If your caregiver will be moving you around, then you may want to purchase such
a model so that you do not need to be moved between a wheelchair and shower
bench and commode chair - you can just stay on the multi-functional commode
chair.
