Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Therapy

CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) therapy is a treatment for sleep apnea syndrome (PSVT) that improves the quality of sleep by providing patients with continuous positive airway pressure. Over the past few decades, CPAP therapy has become the treatment of choice for patients with PSVT. CPAP therapy works by using a mask to provide continuous positive pressure ventilation to the patient's airways. The air in the mask is generated by a compressor and flows into the patient's airway at a constant pressure through the mask's valve. This continuous positive pressure ventilation can effectively prevent hypoxemia during sleep and improve the patient's sleep quality.

CPAP therapy can be effective in treating PSVT, especially in those with symptoms of apnea. PSVT is a sleep disorder in which patients experience pauses in apnea during sleep, which causes oxygen levels in the blood to drop, causing a series of health problems such as waking up at night, daytime fatigue, headaches, etc. CPAP therapy can effectively improve patients' sleep quality and help them recover faster.

In addition to treating PSVT, CPAP therapy can also be used for other conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). For these diseases, CPAP treatment can provide better respiratory support and oxygen supply, thereby improving the patient's quality of life.

However, there are some disadvantages to CPAP therapy.

- First, it requires the patient to be able to use the mask and follow their doctor's recommendations for treatment.

- Secondly, CPAP treatment may cause some side effects, such as nasal discomfort and facial skin irritation.

In addition, CPAP therapy requires patients to have appropriate respiratory parameters, such as mean airway pressure (PaCO2) and minute ventilation (FRC). Despite this, CPAP therapy is still the preferred treatment for PSVT patients. With the continuous advancement of technology, the safety and effectiveness of CPAP treatment have been more verified, making it an important means for PSVT patients to restore health.
